Sara Dell

Sara Dell mainOne can’t help but want to sing along to songs as playful and refreshing as Sara Dell’s. While her music has a hopeful lightness to it, its substance ranges from laughable reflections of being burned to facing the realities of love, life and loss. This music is the marriage of eloquence and candor, wrapped irresistibly catchy melodies.
Perhaps her boldest and most playful album yet, Walk on Water beautifully captures the essence of what has become this vibrant young artist’s signature sound. Though Sara’s music is certainly distinguishable, she has been dubbed the “lady-version” of John Mayer and Train, and has been likened to female artists such as Chantal Kreviazuk, Taylor Swift and Feist.

Behind the music is a diversely talented young woman who sings, plays piano, writes, produces and arranges her music from the ground up. Having begun her study of music from early childhood, Sara began singing and performing in her early teens and has made a living as a musician since then. She naturally gravitated toward writing pop/rock music at an early age, inspired by everything from the Beatles to the Police to Peter Gabriel to Annie Lennox and Carole King. She has also attracted an ever-expanding fan base for her dynamic solo vocal/piano performances, and has garnered residencies at landmark live music venues in Toronto, Canada.

Originally from Winnipeg, Sara is now based out of Toronto where, along with performing regularly both solo and with bands, she writes, produces and records her music. She is excited to present her new, self-produced album Walk on Water, a collection of undeniably satisfying pop songs that is sure to delight all who hear it!

“…this is not a trendy, or cookie cutter contribution created to fit in, be au currant, or dazzle you with histrionics or volume. It is a great, classic song, played by real musicians, written by a caring craftsman, produced and arranged to simple, economic, perfection, the chord structure alone a thing of beauty….sung in an intimate, confident and gloriously honest style by a woman, whose taste and restraint show a maturity that is missing in so many projects these days.”
