80s – White Noise

White Noise 1White Noise skillfully recreates the late 70s and early 80s sounds of emerging New Wave. Featuring their signature skinny ties, White Noise pays tribute to late era punk that gave way to synthesizer pop and everything in between.

White Noise covers edgy post-punk by The Clash and The Ramones, synth pop hits by New Order and The Cars, and definitive new wave tunes by U2, The Smiths, The Cure, The Police and more.

Obsessed with musical integrity and authenticity, the musicians in White Noise are meticulous about their sound. Echoing his British accented new wave icons, energetic front man Ted Lamont travels with an impressive array of guitars that make up his on-stage entourage. Keyboardist, occasional lead vocalist and guitarist Cliff McPherson commands no less than four keyboards, including an 80s era Moog to lend the necessary production-heavy layering that define the genre. Bassist Ron Emery, in keeping in the spirit of the era, emulates the trademark sound by adapting his playing to match the wide range of bottom end found in the new wave era from synth bass to strong percussive attack. The foursome is rounded out by the heavy hitting Mike Lilley who drives the band’s 3-dimensional sound.

If it sounds like it belongs in a John Hughes movie, White Noise has it covered.
