Guess Who – Carl Dixon Sings the Guess Who
Tribute to The Guess Who Featuring Carl Dixon
Carl Dixon is well-known internationally for many years as a singer/guitarist. His credits include Coney Hatch, April Wine, and most importantly for this show almost 8 years spent in two different stints with The Guess Who. Carl took on the job of singing the Burton Cummings vocal parts in ’97 and again in ’04, performing that amazing catalogue of songs from the 60’s and 70’s. “Big shoes to fill, yes, but I was ready. I’d grown up loving and singing along to all those Guess Who albums.”
From the 70’s glory days of The Guess Who and also the GW Running Back Through Canada Reunion Tour of 2000 comes Bill Wallace, bassist and vocalist. Laurie MacKenzie, the celebrated Winnipeg guitarist and another alumnus wil Carl of the latter-day Guess Who adds his impeccable lead guitar skills and vocals. On drums, we have Mark Santer of 80’s Canadian rock trio Santers. Piano is played by Matt Young, a true-fine tickler of the ivories. It’s a fun show playing those great hits true to the originals!

“Carl Dixon brought his “Carl Dixon Sings the Guess Who” show to our venue this past weekend and sold out our 500 seater! What a fantastic show and what a terrific way to open our season! Our patrons only had wonderful things to say and gave Carl and his band a resounding standing ovation! Carl was a pleasure to work with and his willingness to come and chat with our patrons after the show was also much appreciated! Thank you so much for bringing your fabulous show to our town!.” – Helene Studholme, President – Kirkland Lake Arts Council
“Carl Dixon sings the Guess Who” is a must see show for any Guess Who fan. The musicianship, camaraderie, and joy these musicians share on stage make it feel like you’re hanging out in a friends garage on a warm summers eve watching the guys jam. The audience feel like they are a part of something special, sort of in on a secret. Carl commands the stage with a relatability and charisma that both sets you at ease and straps you in for a rock and roll ride. Any ‘Guess Who’ fan will have a great night, hell anyone who loves real rock and roll will have the time of their lives.” – Danny Harvey, Artistic Programming Coordinator | Performing Arts | City of Brampton
