Pure Country Band
Pure Country Band plays traditional country music, 90s country hits, western swing, and bluegrass.
Band Biography
Frank Young and Lynda Gosselin founded the group in 2018 as “Pure Country Duo.” They performed all over Quebec in restaurants, clubs, private parties, and festivals. In 2023, the duo took their music to the seas for a contract with Carnival Cruise Lines. Frank also spent four consecutive years as a bandleader for Norwegian Cruise Line on three different ships.
The band grew in 2019 when talented drummer Serge Maheux joined the lineup. As a trio, they released a CD titled Pure Country. They toured extensively across Quebec and Ontario, using custom bass backing tracks recorded at Pure Country Studio.
In 2023, a talented young musician named Tyler joined the group. He brought extra energy to the band by singing and playing rhythm guitar and banjo.
Musical Style and Live Shows
The band specializes in covering classic country music, western swing, and upbeat bluegrass. During their live shows, the band members often switch instruments to keep the performance exciting. Frank plays lead guitar and piano during the main country sets. When it is time for bluegrass, Frank and Tyler thrill the crowd by swapping banjos and guitars back and forth.
