Rick Sheppard is the only Living Legend of The 1960’s Atlantic Records Recording Group Internationally Known as The Drifters. Rick is an integral part of this hit-making machine. He has been there for more than 45 years. Rick joined The Drifters in 1966 as a singer and recorded with the group on Atlantic Records through the early 1970s. During that time, he toured with The Drifters throughout the world and shared stages with some of the greatest names in music and show business. You can look it up in books and anthologies chronicling The Drifter’s history. Rick Sheppard is prominently featured among the many singers.

You know the songs “On Broadway”, “Under the Boardwalk”, “Save the Last Dance for Me”, “Up On the Roof”, “This Magic Moment”, “There Goes My Baby”, and many more.  The songs are etched into the memories of music fans worldwide and helped form part of the foundation of contemporary popular music.

A songwriter familiar with Rick mentioned his name to legendary manager George Treadwell. George, manager of The Drifters, was looking for someone to replace Drifter Rudy Lewis. His friend, the songwriter, was sufficiently persuasive so that GeorgeTreadwell called Rick Sheppard to see if he would be interested in joining The Drifters. Rick thought the caller was a friend playing a joke, so he hung up. Fortunately, George Treadwell called back and assured Rick that he was, indeed, the manager of The Drifters and that the offer was genuine. After a quick apology and three seconds to think it over, Rick Sheppard said, “Yes,” and became a part of one of the greatest hit-makers in the history of contemporary popular music. The rest, as they say, is rock ‘n’ roll history.

Rick Sheppard is entering his fifth-decade of thrilling audiences in the United States, Canada, and worldwide.
